November 16, 1956 - March 22, 2024

Donna Soliz Gaspar, beloved grandmother, passed away March 22, 2024 at the age of 67. Donna was born on November 16, 1956 in Crosbyton, Texas. Later, she would meet and marry her husband of 47 years, Jose Francisco Gaspar. Together they made their home in Rotan and had two children, Christopher and Monica. While raising her family, she worked many jobs over the years, including Walls Industries and Rotan Independent School District, while also putting herself through nursing school where she graduated from Texas State Technical College with her sister Rosa. Donna then worked at both nursing homes in Rotan, and then went on to work for the Clear Fork Health Center under Dr. Chester M. Callan for 21 years, until she retired.

Donna was a strong woman with an impeccable work ethic. Her quiet demeanor only changed when she was cheering for any one of her six grandchildren. If she wasn’t working, you could find her either wearing a George Strait t shirt in her jeans and boots playing the slots with Rosa and Frankie - no one had better luck than Donna; or she was wearing a school t-shirt supporting and attending the school activities those grandchildren played - she was their biggest fan. The powerful heart she had for her family will be dearly missed.

Donna Soliz Gaspar is survived by Jose Francisco “Frankie” Gaspar, two children Christopher (spouse Kristina) and Monica, six grandchildren, Alexis, Zachary, Jacob, James, Shyanne and Alyssa Herrera, and nine siblings, Rosa Soliz Almanza, Joe Soliz (Rita), Augustine Soliz, Jr. (Hope), Johnny Soliz (Angie), Doris Soliz Ramirez, Dianne Soliz Reising, Joe Paul Soliz, and Debbie Soliz Lux.

The Rosary will be Tuesday, March 26th at 6 p.m. at Weathersbee Ray in Rotan.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on March 27th at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society - 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
